Pakistani Fiza Farhan included in Forbes list of 2015’s young entrepreneurs

Twenty-eight-year-old, Fiza Farhan, the co-founder of Buksh Foundation, has been featured in the prestigious list of 30 under 30 social entrepreneurs of 2015.

The list is compiled by American business magazine Forbes every year and it celebrates young people whose work is of major importance in their home countries.

Fiza Farhan runs Buksh Foundation that is a microfinance institution. This foundation helps to bring clean energy to the poor and rural areas across Pakistan.

The Buksh foundation has produced 135 trained women. These women are trained as energy entrepreneurs.  They have brought solar-powered lights to 6,750 households.

Almost 12,000 entrepreneurs have been extended loans for business and clean energy projects.

Buksh Foundation and Buksh Energy are part of the Buksh group which was established in 1950’s with a departmental store chain and has now reached the third generation and branched out into lifestyle brands.

Fiza Farhan has the honour to be  is the 4th woman from Pakistan whose name has been included in the American business magazine Forbes list of young changers, movers and makers.

With other achievements, Fiza Farhan was also presented with the title of co-chairperson of the Italian Development Committee in May 2014.

The  Italian Development Committee (IDC) is working on promotion of bilateral trade and reinvestment between Pakistan and Italy.
