Reema wins US award, asks India to allow Pakistani films in cinemas

Famous Pakistani actress, Reema Khan has been presented with the America Abroad Media (AAM)’s 2014 Partner Award for her role in the series Reema Khan’s America.

In 2013, in partnership with America Abroad Media (AAM), Reema Khan starred in the Pakistani television series Reema Khan’s America.

This series is about the 43-year-old actor as she set out to discover her new country through the eyes of a Pakistani, testing stereotypes about life in the US and exploring what it means to be an American.

The award ceremony is organized by America Abroad Media (AAM). At the ceremony, Pakistani actress, Reema Khan, appealed to the Indian government to allow the release of Pakistani films in India.

Reema said that it would be a very good step for cultural exchange and help develop both (Pakistni and Indian) film industries.

Reema said, “For the last couple of years, Indian films are being released in Pakistani theatres, which are wonderful. Now I am expecting the government of India to allow the release of Pakistani films in Indian theatres.”

“Through films, audiences of the two countries can be brought together. They can carry a very strong message. They can understand the traditions, values and cultural system which has developed in Pakistan.”

Reema Khan praised Bollywood actor Aamir Khan. Aamir Khan had been honoured with the AAM award last year for highlighting social issues in his popular television serial, Satyamev Jayate.

Praising Aamir Khan work, Reema said “Being a celebrity, he is doing such a wonderful job. I really appreciate his efforts and his work as an anchor of Satyamev Jayate,”.

Reema made her film debut with Bulandi in 1990. She has been appeared almost in 200 films

In 2006, she made her debut as a director and producer with Koi Tujh Sa Kahan, which won the Best Film award at the Lux Style Awards.

Reema Khan gained great fame and recognition throughour her career as she won two awards for Best Actress and Best Director.
