Shiraz Uppal with A.R Rahman for soundtrack of Ranjahanaa

Famous Pakistani singer and music composer Shiraz Uppal has once again teamed up with A.R. Rehman for the title song of upcoming Bollywood film ‘Ranjahanaa’.

He has recently went to India to record the title track ‘Ranjhanaa’ and said that it is always fun to work with A.R. Rehman.

The film ‘Ranjahanna’ has been directed by Aanand Rai. The title track of the movie has been written by famous lyricist Irshad Kamil who is one of Shiraz’s favourite lyricists.

Besides Ranjhanaa’s title track Sheeraz Upal has done two other tracks with A.R Rahman, one for Tamil film ‘Boys’ and another for Bollywood movie ‘Nayak’.

In the movie Ranjhanaa Sonam Kapoor and Kolaveri Di star Dhanush will play lead roles. The movie will be released on 21st June this year.

Shiraz Uppal said that this is not his first experience with A.R Rahman as he had done some concerts with him also.

In October 2012, Shiraz Uppal has worked with A.R. Rehman when they performed in One World Peace Concert in New York.

He also shared the stage with Cyndi Lauper, Philip Philips, Natasha Bedingfield, Dave Mathews and many others.

raanjhanaa1Shiraz Uppal has started his Bollywood career in 2007 with the composition and singing of ‘Roya Re’ for Pooja Bhatt’s ‘Dhoka.

He got great fame and recognition with this song as it went on to become one of the biggest hits of the year.

Besides his music albums released in Pakistan, ‘Ankahi’ was the first to release in India in 2009.

The song ‘Rabba’ from this album was selected for the movie ‘Aashayein’ which was starring John Abraham and Sonal Sehgal.

Shiraz Uppal also won the ‘Indian Mirchi Music Award 2010’ for the song ‘Rabba’.

Shiraz Uppal composed and produced his songs and owned a state-of-the-art studio (S.U Studios) in Lahore.
