Classical singer Mahnaz Begum passed away

Famous Urdu classical singer Mahnaz Begum has died on Saturday January 19, 2013. The 55-year-old singer was suffering from respiratory problems.

She was travelling to the US from Karachi. During the flight her health worsened. She was transferred to a hospital in Bahrain where she passed away.

Mehnaz has sung a variety of genres for radio, television and films. She has worked as a playback singer for a number of films.

She specialized in ghazal, thumri, dadra, khayal, drupad and reciting salam, noha and marsiya.

Mahnaz Begum was born in 1958. She was the daughter of famous singer Kajjan Begum.

She is no more with us but her fabulous work is always with us memorizing her personality.

All of her contributions in music industry are remarkable, “mujhe dil se na bhulana” “ab kay tajdeed e wafa ka nahi imkaan” are among some of her famous ghazals.
