Mirat-ul-Uroos is a classic Urdu language novel, written by “Deputy Nazir Ahmad Dehlvi” (1830-1912). The novel was published in 1869.

The novel contains themes promoting the cause of female education in Muslim and Indian society, and is credited for giving birth to an entire category of fictional works promoting female literacy. The book was sold over 100,000 copies within a few years of its initial publishing.

The novel, “Mirat -Ul- Uroos” was based on story of two sisters “Akbari  and Asghari”.’ Mirat-ul-Uroos “was also adapted in PTV Drama serial under the same name, the lead role of “Asghari” was played by Arifa Siddiqui.

This story was once again adapted into a comedy television drama in 2011. The serial was aired on Hum TV, with the name Akbari Asghari.

In the serial, Akbari Asghari, the lead role of Akbari has been played by Sanam Baloch and Asghari by Humaima Malik. The male lead roles were played by Imran Abbas Naqvi and Fawad Afzal Khan.

The drama serial Akbari Asghari, was shoot in Pakistan and Turkey. The serial was telecasted from May 28, 2011.

Now this time, an extended version of Mirat -Ul- Uroos is adapted again in modern style, with the same name, Mirat -Ul- Uroos. This time story will revolve around granddaughters of “Akbari & Asghari. It is a story of two women with different mind sets of living.

The extended version of Mirat -Ul- Uroos is written by Umera Ahmed. The director of drama serial “Mirat -Ul- Uroos” is Anjum Shehzad and associate director is Kashif Ameen.

The cast of drama serial “Mirat -Ul- Uroos” includes: Aamina Sheikh, Meekal Zulfiqar, Mehwish Hayat, Ahsan Khan, Umar Naru, Momal Sheikh(daughter of Javed sheikh), Syed Afraz Rasool, Uzma Gillani, Samina Ahmed, Ayesha Khan and others.

Recently a very famous drama serial of Umera Ahmed, “Zindagi Gulzar Hai” has on aired on Hum TV that got a great appreciation of viewers.

The drama serial “Mirat -Ul- Uroos” will be on aired on 20th December, 2012 on Geo TV. Viewers will enjoy the serial every Thursday.
