Indian actor Naseeruddin Shah arrives in Lahore with family

Indian actor Naseeruddin Shah along with his family and three fellow actors reached Lahore with the message of peace and friendship.

Talking to media outside the Allama Iqbal International Airport, Naseeruddin Shah said: “Why would I come to Pakistan if I had no “Aman ki Asha” (desire for peace)?”

The guests are welcomes with shower of rose petals and cheers from Pakistanis. Indian actor Naseeruddin Shah arrived on a seven day tour of Pakistan during which he will act in a play for the Faiz Foundation.

He told the gathered media. “We will do two shows of our drama based on Ismat Chughtai’s stories for Faiz Foundation. These shows will be staged on December 1 and 2 at the Alhamra centre.”

“The love I get here, I do not have the words to describe that. I don’t feel scared at all here. It feels like I have come back home,” Shah said.

The Indian actor appreciated Pakistanis’ love care for him and he said he never felt any kind of fear while staying in Pakistan.

In 2007 Naseeruddin Shah has worked in Pakistani stage and productions for the most famously film Khuda Ke Liye. Earlier, he had performed in a similar stage play at the Alhamra Theatre.

The Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah features in the Pakistani Punjabi production Zinda Bhaag that is scheduled to release in December. The film involves filmmakers from Pakistan, Farjad Nabi and Meenu.

Naseeruddin Shah aims to return to Pakistan for the opening of this film.
