Pakistani city Peshawar that is the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has a stronger Bollywood connection. Three legends can be traced back to Peshawar Dilip Kumar (Muhammed Yusuf Khan), Shahrukh Khan and Ranbirraj ‘Raj’ Kapoor.

The house of Raj Kapoor is situated in Mohallah Dhaki Munawar Shah. The house was owned by Raj Kapoor’s grandfather named D Bashisharnath where Raj Kapoor was born to Prithviraj Kapoor on 14th December 1924.

Prithviraj Kapoor played his first lead role in Indian film Cinema Girl in 1929. Raj Kapoor’s  family had a big name in the Indian film industry.

Raj Kapoor and his wife Prithviraj Kapoor moved to Mumbai a long time ago. Their house remained in the original condition until now.

Shaikh Amjad Rasheed, the chairman of IMGC Global Entertainment in Pakistan has taken the responsibility of refurbishing the house and converting it into a museum.

“We are in continuous interaction with the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government and hope that we will soon get the green light to acquire the house from its present owners as soon as possible.” Shaikh Amjad Rasheed said.  (Express Tribune)

Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is willing to contribute its maximum efforts to promote culture and arts. This house would be rebuilt while keeping in view its original structure.

This will be a great heritage especially for people of Peshawar and they would protect this rich culture.
