Pakistan: Mobile Services were Suspended on Eid-ul-Fitr

In Pakistan, mobile services had suspended in several cities like Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, Multan, on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr. These services had suspended from Sunday evening that is the main time of wishing Eid greetings to others.

In Pakistani cities mobile services had suspended on the order of government. The decision about suspending mobile phones was taken at a meeting held at the Interior minister Rehman Malik ’s residence.

Mobile services had been suspended due to risk of terrorist attacks that might mobile phones be used to cause bombing. Mobile services had suspended to prevent terrorist attacks, on the religious festival Eid-ul-fitr.

Interior Minister Rehman Malik said that Pakistani government took this action to protect Pakistanis lives.

It is true that people had to tolerate inconvenience to greet their relatives and friends on the occasion of Eid as mobile services were suspended but it was a protective act to secure Pakistanis lives on the pious festival of Eid-ul-fitr.

Interior Minister Rehman Malik said that mobile services would be resumed on Monday mid-morning and finally Mobile Services are resumed after 14 hours.
